  Lynda.com is a website that is partnered with LinkedIn skills training. The first month is free and then there is a subscription fee to continued access to the hundreds of courses. And while the cost to get increased job skills isn't too expensive there is a way to get it for free.  Step 1: Go to lynda.com and instead of signing in with LinkedIn click on sign in with your organization lynda.com log in  Step 2: Next sign in with your school or library URL enter organization URL Step 3: Log in with your library number and pin  library log in credentials Step 4: Gain access to hundreds of courses and learning paths for no cost! lynda.com training library Not all libraries and organizations are affiliated with lynda.com so this may not work for all libraries. I am a member of the San Diego library so I am luckily able to have access to the training library. 

Become a Data Analyst I have a bunch of free time lately since Covid-19. I don't go anywhere and I am trying not to sit and watch Netflix all day. So I decided I need to learn new skills to work on changing careers. I have taken plenty of career skills tests and combed the internet looking for something that works well with my transferable skills from my previous career in optical management. I decided on learning Data analytics and found this great training pathway on LinkedIn.  I am about 2 hours into this 24-hour training pathway and I am completely immersed in this exciting field. It has videos, slide decks, examples problems, a glossary of commonly used jargon, and quizzes to check your knowledge. And it is completely self-paced, which I truly enjoy. I am hoping this leads to gaining skills to pivot into a new career but if not, I will at least learn new skills that are necessary for today's data-heavy job market.
